Madimack InverFlow Pumps

InverFlow pumps accept Modbus over RS-485 or four dry-contact digital inputs. Two things decide whether the install behaves: disabling self-priming, and understanding that the digital inputs outrank the bus.

Disable self-priming first

  • Disable the default self-priming function in parameter 6.
  • Parameter 7 sets the self-priming recheck time if you want to keep priming but shorten it.
  • The cycle can also be exited by hand at the pump, which is useful during commissioning but is not a substitute for turning it off.

Control priority

RS-485, the preferred route

Land the pump's RS485-A and RS485-B on a PORT. This is the option worth taking: one pair of conductors, full speed control rather than four fixed steps, and it leaves the module's dry contacts free for other equipment.

Digital inputs, the fallback

Where the bus is not available, four digital inputs give fixed speed steps. Each is driven from a dry contact on the module using COM and N.O so it rests open.

When it does not respond

SymptomWhere to look first
Runs at its own speed for the first half hourSelf-priming still enabled. Parameter 6.
Modbus commands ignoredA digital input is asserted. Check for the DI icon on the pump screen.
No communication at allSwap RS485-A and RS485-B, then check address and baud rate.
Panel will not respond eitherA digital input is active — the panel locks out by design.
Wrong speed on a digital inputThe default percentage behind that input was changed in the parameter settings.
